ORCHARD DRIVE PRIMARY SUITE

ABOUT THE PROJECT

This primary bedroom suite was meticulously designed to transform a collection of petite rooms within a historic home into a cohesive and sophisticated private retreat. Encompassing the home office, bathroom, hallway storage, and the primary bedroom, the design balances timeless elegance with modern functionality through bespoke detailing and thoughtful spatial planning.

The home office offers a serene yet highly functional workspace, featuring custom built-in shelving, a tailored desk chair, and a cherished painting of a meaningful location, adding a personal layer to the refined setting. Storage solutions were seamlessly integrated throughout the suite, including floor-to-ceiling cabinetry in the hall dedicated to the homeowners’ shoe collection, custom closet organizers, and a custom designed bathroom cabinet crafted with antique leaded glass doors and topped with Italian marble.

In the bathroom, classic materials elevate the everyday experience, with marble flooring and skirting paired with traditional furnishings for a sense of enduring luxury. Throughout the suite, the homeowners’ personal collections take center stage—antique furniture and lighting, curated artwork, and collected frames are thoughtfully displayed to enhance the narrative of the space.

The color palette of soft blues and warm neutrals, punctuated by a punchy touch of tangerine orange, draws inspiration from the homeowners’ favorite travel destinations. This story continues in a curated gallery wall of travel-collected art displayed above an antique dresser. Layers of rich texture and pattern—introduced through custom carpeting, tailored bedding, window treatments, and furnishings—lend depth and warmth, resulting in a space that feels both gracious and deeply personal while honoring the historic character of the home.
