WHITETAIL LANE LIVING & DINING ROOMS
ABOUT THE PROJECT
This project began with a space full of potential: a large formal living and dining room that offered abundant natural light but little architectural character. Our client loved to host, yet the rooms felt more like a blank canvas than a setting designed for gathering. The goal was to create a layered, welcoming environment where entertaining could unfold naturally—while introducing architectural detail, warmth, and a sense of occasion.
In the living room, we established a sense of intimacy within the generous footprint by arranging comfortable seating around a newly added gas fireplace with a marble surround. Custom white oak bookcases, softly illuminated with library lights, flank the fireplace and bring warmth and balance to the room. Fresh warm white walls are enhanced with tailored moldings that lend quiet architectural presence. A custom upholstered “introvert corner” offers a cozy retreat for conversation or reading, while a brass-topped burlwood coffee table—with cleverly integrated storage—provides the perfect stage for the client’s beloved record collection.
The dining room embraces a richer, more dramatic mood. Walls painted in a deep blue-black hue are accented with classic moldings that frame the space and amplify the glow of a striking overhead fixture. But the true showpiece lies where a once-ordinary two-door closet stood. Reimagined as a bespoke entertaining bar, the space now houses custom cabinetry concealing a beverage refrigerator, ice maker, and champagne keg. The bar is anchored by a luminous, backlit Santorini natural quartz backsplash and countertop, with custom brass and glass shelving that elevates the entire installation into a jewel-like focal point.
The result is a pair of rooms that feel both sophisticated and inviting—spaces designed not only to be admired, but to be lived in, filled with conversation, music, and celebration.
